When you play golf in Sweden, you are required to get certified so you can have access to all of the golf course around the country. In order to get your certification, you must take a special course where you will learn the basics of golf such as rules, etiquette, safety and tecnique (full swing, short game and putting). After you finish with the course, you take a written test and playing test. You should be together with a certified player or instructor. You are required to shot a specific amount of strokes. Only after you have successfully passed both tests and obtained your green card (grönt kort) will you be able to play on any golf course.
Step #1:
Shot 30 strokes or less in the first 6 holes of the course (Jarlabanke Prästgården 9 hål). You need to have a person as a witness, either an instructor or other golfer who already has the green card.
Step #2:
Go to: https://borjaspela.golf.se/ and register to get a Golf-ID. You will receive and e-mail with your Golf- ID. Click on grönt kort-webben, watch the videos, ready all the information and take the online tests to practice and get an idea of how the test will be. (Info and test in Swedish).
Step #3:
Go to: https://mingolf.golf.se and login with your golf ID and password. On the right side next to your name, you will find the test. Click on Kunskapstestet and take the test.
Step #4:
When passing the theory test, let me know so I can register the score of the playing test.
After passing both tests, you are required to become a member in one of the golf courses. For membership, you contact the proshop. You will also get a handicap (54 as a beginner).
IMPORTANT: If the person taking the test is under 13 years old, you need to adjust the difficulty of the test in "min sida" when you are logged in in https://borjaspela.golf.se
After you have done all these steps, you will be ready to play in any course in Sweden.
GOOD LUCK!!
A golf handicap is a numerical measure of a golfer's potential that is used to enable players of varying abilities to compete against one another. Better players are those with the lowest handicaps.
In golf, the lower your handicap is, the better you are. Thus, if your handicap is 6 and your friend’s is 10, you’re a better player than she is. On average, four strokes better, to be exact.
Assume that par for the 18-hole course we’re going to play is 72. You, as someone with a handicap of 6, would be expected to play 18 holes in a total of 78 strokes, 6 more than par. Your friend, on the other hand, being a 10-handicapper, would hit the ball 82 times on a normal day, 10 more than par. Thus, your handicap is the number of strokes over par you should take to play an 18-hole course.
The handicap you get every day depends on how long you play the course and the difficulty of it.
Don't forget to keep your score every time you play and register them into the handicap system at mingolf.se with your golf-ID and password.
The handicap will go up or down after registering each round.
